CareerSource Tampa Bay provides businesses with a wide range of professional services, including: employee referral and recruitment, training and retraining, workshops and business seminars on a variety of human resource and workforce topics, labor market statistics, targeted career fairs, downsizing and retention support strategies, tax credit information and other customized support for a well-trained workforce.

CareerSource Tampa Bay offers full-service center locations in Tampa and Brandon; and a satellite center in Ruskin. The centers provide services for employers and employment candidates, including turnkey business centers for copying, faxing, and internet access. It also offers conference and meeting space at affordable rates at these locations for the convenience of employers.

Funding

As a non-profit organization, we rely on external funding to support our day-to-day operations. The majority of our resources are provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) under the Employment and Training Administration of the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) and through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). Additional funding is provided by the USDOL through Wagner Peyser and the State of Florida as we support programs such as Welfare Transition, SNAP, and TANF. We also pursue additional funding by applying for grants.

CareerSource Tampa Bay programs and initiatives are fully supported by the U.S. Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Agriculture as part of awards totaling $23,321,277.

CareerSource Tampa Bay is proud to be partners with the following organizations to help better serve our customers:

  • The Farmworkers Career Development Program (FCDP) is a grant funded program supporting local migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Eligible students are provided workforce training leading to year-round employment. The FCDP is funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Ace, Section 167, by the United States Department of Labor, Employment, and Training Administration Division. The purpose of the FCDP is to provide career services and appropriate training leading to year-round, unsubsidized employment to eligible migrant and season farmworkers, and to provide emergency stabilization services such as food, rent, etc. to those who choose to stay in farm work. The intent and vision of the FCDP is to provide educational and supportive services to chronically unemployed farmworkers to obtain the career-related education needed to prepare to enter or advance in the workforce, prepare their children for success in school, and to have the economic stability to exercise their rights as citizens in their communities.
